Quilting with your embroidery Machine Hands on Class

$80.00

SKU:

Join Julie Hall in hands-on sessions and learn techniques to create stunning edge-to-edge quilting with an embroidery machine

You will learn how to secure your quilt sandwich without using sprays or pins, how to choose a quilting embroidery design, and then how to perfectly match up the designs for an all over look.

The workshop will start with a brief explanation and demonstration on creating the quilt sandwich, before moving onto marking up your quilt and selecting a template.

You will then get hands on, moving to an embroidery machine (one per student), and stitching.  During the class we will show you how to perfectly join your designs without hassle or ‘terror’, using magnetic hoops.

At the end of the class you will have a completed sampler panel, along with a selection of three quilting designs to take home and play.

Students bring: The willingness to learn fabulous new techniques!

Come and join us at AMQF and learn how to take your machine embroidery to the next level, creating continuous, edge to edge quilting with your embroidery machine. In this hands on, small group class (max 6), we will look at how to turn your regular hoop into a magnetic hoop without hurting your machine, how to baste your project allowing it to be embroidered over, lay out your quilting design with templates, and quickly and accurately join your designs for a perfect quilting result.

During the class you will work on a fabric panel (panels subject to change based on availability), and the class includes the cost of the panel, wadding, backing, and machine use. You will not only go home with the skills, but also with 5 different quilting designs, allowing you to create this wonderful technique at your leisure.
